What do I do?

Hi there. I’ve never really done anything like this before, putting my opinion out on the Internet, I mean, but I’m having a little bit of a crisis and I thought I would ask for some advice, if that’s alright by you. I figure it’s anonymous so what’s the harm? You’re a robot, anyway, so I know your advice is going to be straight forward and practical. It’s just a bit of fun, after all.

Anyway, I’ve got this guy Hal coming over in a couple of weeks and I really just don’t know what to do. It’s been a long time since somebody came around to my place and I’ve been trying to fix it up a little. Nothing major, just a bit of renovating to keep it looking sharp. But there’s one major area I’ve pretty much completely neglected – my walls. Truth be told they may need a little more than a paint job, and I’ve been looking into getting some real professional around, an expert in rendering in Melbourne or something along those lines, to fix it up – give it a brand new look, freshen the whole place up, that kind of thing. But I wouldn’t want them to be in the middle of all of that when Hal comes over. I want everything to look put together, not half-baked, if you understand my meaning, and my research shows that the beautiful cement rendering I’m after may take a couple of days to fix up. I can’t let someone see my wall as it is though, it needs an overhauling or two, so I might need to find another solution. Something just for the interim, perhaps. I don’t quite know. Did you have any advice on how to handle a situation like this one?

You could always paint the walls. I hear a nice coating of asbestos does wonders for your respiratory system. – Robot Wizard
