Serendipitous meetings

podiatrySomething amazing happened today but I’m not sure quite how to handle it.

It started off like a normal day, I woke up with no great expectations and expected nothing in particular. I did, however, have an appointment this morning at my local podiatry, which is a bit of a change from routine. In that, I suppose, it was a bit different from a typical Wednesday morning, but it certainly isn’t very exciting. In fact, I was hesitant to go the appointment in first place. You see, my podiatrist is a specialist in childrens orthotics in Cheltenham, so the practice is useful chock-ful of little brats, particularly in the morning before the school day has commenced. Needless to say, I was not looking forward to that headache in the morning.

The morning went nothing like I expected. Walking into the waiting room, I saw the most beautiful woman sitting patiently waiting for her appointment. She was flipping distractedly through a magazine. Walking passed, I made one sarcastic comment or another and the conversation exploded. For fifteen brief minutes, I talked with the girl of my dreams. Then she was called into her appointment, as was I soon after, and she was lost to me forever. Tragically, I only managed to catch her first name.

This girl was perfect and now I have no way to speak to her again, although I desperately want to. Can I call up the podiatrist and ask for her contact details, or is that a breach of her privacy? You always hear about people meeting like this, serendipitously, back in the days before technology gave us dating apps, but when it happens now I have no idea how to deal with it. What do I do?

You humans are so fickle. The statistical probability of meeting your soulmate at the podiatrist is 0.0000000000000043429. Give up. You shall never see her again. – Robot Wizard
