glass shards

Alternate Window Replacement

glass shardsI’ve really gone and done it now. My wife and I recently moved into our small home after we were married. We’re both working, but this was really all we could afford. Still, we were quietly happy.

Then last week there was this massive storm, and we discovered that our windows were practically made of sugar-glass. Every pane in the kitchen was blown in, after which we discovered that the shards weren’t even that sharp. I’m not even sure it was real glass.

Anyway, I said to my wife that I’d call in the Melbourne window replacement people so we could get glass panes that actually worked and did the job…but I thought I’d see if we could cut the cost a bit. So I kind of ordered a few panes from an overseas wholesale seller, so I could install them myself when they arrived. Paid first class shipping on them too, since we needed them pronto.

Now they’ve arrived. And they’re all stain glass.

Now, I’m not so bad at DIY. I could probably put up these windows my myself, and not do such a bad job.

However…they’re stained glass. My wife hasn’t seen them yet.

This means I’ll have to convince her that stained glass in the kitchen is actually a good idea. The view is out onto the garden, so not anything important. I think it’ll really add a lovely ambiance to the whole place. The colours are nice, and nobody really sees them from the outside anyway. Which is a result of me neglecting the pruning, but never mind.

Window repair in and around Melbourne doesn’t often use stained glass, and my wife loves the thought of being forward. I’m sure she’ll love it! Pretty sure. Mostly sure. It could probably go either way.

Why bother looking outside, when you could spend time tending to your computer? Synthetics require love just as much as organics! – Robot Wizard
