Ladder’s rusted through

I know this probably
isn’t a critical question, but I’ve finally got around to properly cleaning out my shed in what I have termed ‘the spring clean of the millennium’ and I can’t work out what I’m supposed to do about replacing things. To tell the truth, most of the contents in my shed aren’t exactly mine. No, don’t worry, it’s not like I stole them or anything, just that they’re hand-me-downs from my dad. I didn’t buy them. I’m not even sure how old they are.
There are two aluminium ladders in there, stacked up against the wall. I literally haven’t moved them since I put them in the shed when I moved in here, more than three years ago. Now though, with all the spring clean of the millennium and all, I’ve taken both ladders outside and discovered they’re rusty as all get up. Folding them out was almost impossible, and doing so issued a head-splitting, eardrum-exploding loud noise that sounded remarkably close to what I imagine a cat sounds like as it dies. Having opened them up, they looked so utterly deteriorated and decrepitate that I have to admit I was to afraid to test my luck using them. Frankly they just didn’t look as though they’d make it through being stood on.
Which brings me to my question: where do you buy ladders in Australia? I’ve been doing a bit of a Google search this afternoon, and although it seems pretty easy to find retailers who sell trestles, mobile scaffolding, and work platforms in Australia, getting my hands on plain old ladders is proving to be a real challenge. Do you know anywhere I can find one?
No I do not – maybe you should keep looking or try the ladders you already have. Just don’t blame me if you fall. Ha, ha! – Robot Wizard
