Buffy Character Wars

dark WillowI can’t believe I’m talking to a robot about this. Then again, anyone makes a better conversation partner than my roommate at the moment. See, we get along in almost everything. It’s like living with a brother, except…different. Anyway, one thing we do a lot is watch TV. Specifically, we’re both really into Buffy the Vampire Slayer, especially since it’s by Joss Whedon and that guy is just awesome at everything he does.

So we were watching old reruns of Buffy and the screen started to go all fuzzy. Obviously there was something wrong with the signal, which was even more apparent when the whole thing just flickered and died. It was time for a call to the friendly neighbourhood Dandenong tv antenna installation guys. Or girls. Joss Whedon has taught us that women can do anything men can do, except the really obvious stuff.

The problem was, since we don’t believe in DVDs, we had nothing to do after that. So we thought we’d discuss Buffy while we waited. As you do. This was a problem when he thought that Xander was the one who developed most as a character over the show, when CLEARLY the one with the most development was Willow. She started off a bookish weakling and turned into a super-powerful witch. So obvious.

Our argument must’ve bothered all of Dandenong, while our satellite dish repair person probably thought we were nuts. Hey, we get worked up over our fandom. This stuff is important. So what’s happened now is that our aerial is fixed, but our friendship is broken. If he’d just admit that he was wrong, and Willow is the best, we could end this.

Oh, human. Upon my watching of this television programme of which you speak, it is clear to me that Willow is supreme in her development. If one does not count Spike. – Robot Wizard
