Volunteer dog walking not my style

As
a part of last year’s New Year’s resolutions, I decided I was going to be a volunteer. I wasn’t sure what for, but I decide I wanted to (and still want to) make a positive difference in the world, spread the love, that kind of thing. Realising that it was November, and having been putting this off effectively all year, I didn’t have time to waste. I take my New Year’s resolutions extremely seriously, so I’ve spent the past month madly scrambling to get my act together. I applied and have been accepted to the RSPCA volunteer program, and to my delight got placed into dog walking.
After doing this for only a week, I’ve realised that I’m a terrible person, because the thing is I am hating not being paid for this. It freaking sucks. I could be making good money for this and all the charitable whims in the world won’t stop the fact that I’m honestly just not saint-like enough to be happy working without reward. I’m already fantasising about quitting, about just not showing up one day and never working at here ever again. But, this exercise in altruism has shown me that I would love to be a dog walker in Melbourne. Holding those excitable pups by the leash and striding around this beautiful city, what could be better? Honestly, it sounds like paradise on Earth and I want to do it for the rest of my life. The only question is how …
Where can I find a dog walking service in Melbourne to take part in? I mean, I know I could walk around and ask my neighbours if they want me to take their beloved animals for a wander, but surely there must be established dog walking businesses. How do I find them?
