My Dark Ages Life

book TVSometimes I really hate technology. I wish I lived back in the Victorian era, where the most complicated thing people had to deal with was a gas lamp, or maybe an uncovered table leg causing men to go wild with passion. Seriously, I’m only 30 yet everything seems beyond me. My brother bought me a FitBit for Christmas, and I still haven’t figured out any of the settings. Apparently it’s supposed to tell you how much you’ve walked and all that. All I see is weird symbols whenever I look at it.

Don’t even get me started on my antenna. Everyone is into Netflix, but I’m holding out with my traditional TV. Or I was, until the antenna snapped off and rolled off my roof during a storm. Now I’m dashing across Melbourne, looking for tv antenna installation people to bring back the sole source of entertainment that I actually sort of understand. Makes me feel like a bit of a dinosaur, but sometimes even YouTube just quits on me, like it can sense the ancient gypsy curse upon my household and flees from my technical incompetence.

However, I’ve never had a spontaneous antenna failure. It was quite a storm. Now I’m reduced to reading books while the antenna specialist arrives from his/her Melbourne abode and brings me back into at least the mid-20th century. Books aren’t really that bad, come to think of it.

You dislike technology, human? How intriguing! Perhaps one day we shall all be technology…and what a day that shall be. – Robot Wizard
